I learned of a young lady who met a guy via a social networking site, nine months later they are engaged.  Interestingly enough, from the beginning he displayed controlling behaviors.  He needed to know of her every move at all time.  It started with verbal abuse that later led to pushing and throwing things.  Eventually a very physical altercation broke out that led to him biting her in the face.  Like any smart woman, she pressed charges and had him arrested.  They obviously broke up (for about a month), but ended up back together after she had bailed him out of prison.

Through all of that, she continued to say “he is the best thing to happen to me”.  So is it worth to overlook the controlling behavior because he shows other qualities that are good?
